Location and surroundings
Hotel Tesselhof is located in the seaside resort of De Koog in a side street of the pleasant village street. Beach, forest and dunes are a stone’s throw from the hotel. This makes Hotel Tesselhof the perfect base for a beautiful holiday on Texel.
De Koog
De Koog seaside resort offers something for everyone. There are nice shops, nice restaurants and sunny terraces. You can also visit the cafes and bars in the evenings.
Close to North Sea beach
From the hotel you can walk to the beach in a few minutes. Paal 19.5 and Paal 20 are closest.
The beach
At these beaches there are nice pavilions and you can rent beach beds and umbrellas. You can also enjoy a drink and a snack in the beach pavilions in the autumn.
Adventurous Texel
Surrounded by the sea, there are of course plenty of opportunities to (learn to) surf! There are activities for adults and children. For example, go surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing or supping.
A challenging mountain bike path has been constructed in the De Dennen forest. From the hotel you can cycle to the route in a few minutes. Race it!
For the real daredevil it is also possible to parachute. At the Paracentrum Texel you can, for example, make a tandem jump or a scenic flight over the island. An unforgettable experience above Texel!
Nature
Texel is known for its nature and the variation in landscape, which is why it is often referred to as “the Netherlands in miniature”. Explore, for example, De Slufter, a unique area that is openly connected to the North Sea, or go to forest “De Dennen” and enjoy the view of the Fonteinsnol.
Lots of things to do!
Care for something else than walking and cycling? There are several riding stables on Texel, so you can also explore the forest on horseback. For advanced riders it is also possible to take a beach ride!
Prefer something a little quieter? A covered wagon ride through the Slufter is also possible.
Texel nature
There are also opportunities to explore nature for guests with walking difficulties. There are several hiking trails and viewpoints suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
